Rider Advancement Points will accumulate through the third weekend of racing. Eleven points will advance a novice to amateur and amateur to expert, For 2016 1/2 of the riders Championship Points will be carried forward to the class they are advanced too. If a rider is found to be sandbagging the first three races or missing races, the lap times or wins in later races will determine if they should be advanced, the rider will be advanced to the next class. There will not be any exceptions for advancement in 2016. Lap Times may also be used to make bump-decisions in the interest of safety.
It is the riders responsibility to pick the level of competition he/she can be competitive in. If you were one of the top beginner or amateur riders in 2015, you will be bumped to the next level of competition at the discretion of the motocross committee. It will be in your best interest to begin competing in the class best suited to your ability, since Championship Points will not be carried forward when your Advancement Points move you into the next class. Also, if you race in two classes, you will be bumped up in both classes.
Note: You also may be bumped if your lap times are equal to or better than the higher classes.
