Canaan Lions MX
We are having a Rider’s Meeting on January 22, 2022, from 12 pm – 4 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Canaan N.H. right on Rte4 next to Mascoma Bank. This will be a Potluck event and it will be the perfect time for you to voice your concerns and discuss how we operate the track for next year. We have many improvements for next year! But we would like to hear from all of you. If you cannot make it, please email
your concerns to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you and hope to see you at the event.
We wanted to thank everyone who attended the banquet on that beautiful day! Over 100 handmade trophies (Thank you John Babiarz) were handed out! We also included a Factory Connection (Thank you Tim Street) discount certificate as well. We have some leftovers, so if anyone would like one, please let us know.
We wanted to give a shout-out to our Head Flagger. She came in this year and she did an incredible job! This is not an easy task. Also, another shout out to the people at the gate, in the tower, in the scoring booth, flaggers, registration, EMT’s, track maintenance, and many more, just too many to name. So many people that work behind the scenes make this track possible! We are hard at work getting this track ready for next year!
We hope everyone who came out this year will continue to support us and wish everyone a great rest of the year!
In trying to get things moving in the morning and keep them moving during the day we need everyone’s help. The first thing is to please put your transponder number on your registration form. Also, you will need to show your transponder to the person registering you. Registration is from 7-9 am only, no late registration will be done at the tower anymore. During the day please do not enter/ question the time-keeping area at the bottom of the tower, instead find me or come to the top of the tower. If you are sharing a transponder and are racing back to back please let the person at the starting gate know and make sure you have the right transponder on the correct bike, we do not score by hand. We do seem to be having a few glitches with the system lately and have contacted trackside/ my laps. We need to be absolutely certain that we’re doing everything right on our end so they can diagnose/ fix the problem.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next race.
Thanks, Mike Krar
As we get ready to start the 2021 race season there are a few things I’d like to remind everyone.
There are no open fires allowed. Unfortunately, this also means charcoal grills. Propane grills are fine.
During practice, we allow riding in the pits, first gear, low speed only. During race days there is no riding in the pits.
Bikes can be ridden, low speed, from the white fence down onto the track and must be stopped at the top of the hill when getting off the track.
Finally, for all our campers, 10 pm till 7 am is quiet hours which means all generators are off and noise and activity are kept to a minimum. Please remember we have neighbors that put up with a lot so we can have fun so let’s do our best to be a good neighbor.
Looking forward to seeing and riding with you all soon!!
Next- we need HELP. Many of our members are getting up there in age and just can’t help out. We need: Flaggers/Gate workers/Registration help and handing out awards at the end of the day. As always we will work with you on free gate passes, transponder rentals, practices & racing. I know this is a big ask but we really need at least 1 more E.M.T.
Finally, the MX committee met this fall to discuss bump-ups - Classes. The major change/clarification to the rules is now anytime after 2 races you can be bumped up based on points; lap times, finishing positions, and at the discretion of the members of that committee. Also, we have removed the Master's class and added a pit bike class. Please read the rules/classes section carefully. It is up to the racer / or parent to make sure they are registered correctly. Once the rider's meeting is completed and practice begins no changes will be allowed for that days racing.
The 50CC junior class does not allow KTM, HUSQ, or Cobras. This is an entry-level class and it is not fair for the other riders.
Thank you all very much for your continued support of the Canaan Lion's raceway.
We need your help
Canaan Lions MX is in need of track help. As many of you know, the track is run by the Canaan Lions Club. The Lions, is the largest service organization, in the world. This is an all-volunteer group, and all proceeds raised, go toward causes such as eyesight and hearing testing, diabetes research, eliminating hunger, and helping with medical needs in our community and around the world.
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, Canaan Lions MX will be following all Federal, State, and Local Laws and Regulations. Please check the Website, Facebook, and Instagram for updates.
Some of our members, are now considered High Risk and will not be able to return to the track. In order for this to be a successful race season, we need flaggers, gate attendants, and help with registration. We are not looking for a season commitment (that would be great), but we are trying to get a list of people to fill in, as needed. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated and together we can keep Canaan Lions MX a fun, family-friendly place to ride and race. If you would like to help, please scroll to the bottom of the page, and fill out the form and press submit.
Welcome to the Canaan Lions Club's motocross season. The gate fee for spectators is $10 for ages 7 through adult. Children 6 and under are admitted free of charge. Practice is $20 and Races are $35 with discounts applied for more than one race. See Documents for more information. All racebikes must stay in the main parking area on race day. 75 points will advance a rider from novice to amateur, or amateur to expert. Lap times may also be used at any time, to advance a rider to a higher class. 1/2 of the accumulated points will be carried over to the class they are advanced too. End of season points will be used to bump a rider to a higher class.150 points, or higher will advance a rider to the next class, for the following season.
After the second race or any point their after, you can be bumped to the next class based on your lap times or rider ability at the desecration of the Motocross Committee. You also may be bumped if your lap times are equal to or better than the higher classes.
It is the rider’s responsibility to pick the level of competition he/she can be competitive in. If you were one of the top beginner or amateur riders in 2020, you will be bumped to the next level of competition at the discretion of the Motocross Committee. It will be in your best interest to begin competing in the class best suited to your ability, since only half your Championship Points will be carried forward when your Advancement Points move you into the next class.
