Canaan Lions MX
Not gonna lie, yesterdays rain dampened my spirits that we’d actually make it Saturday. But the crew put in the work today and the track looks absolutely phenomenal! The track is ready to go!! So pumped now!
Cannot believe it’s only a month, till first practice. Hope everyone had a great winter. A Few things, to go over quickly, so you can get back to bike maintenance. First, 85 big wheel has now become super mini. ( up to 112cc 2 stroke or 150cc four stroke, 19”/16” wheels).Next we have eliminated pit bike class. If (5) or more riders want a pit bike race we can run it at the end of the day as a (3) lap fun race. You will have to be registered in the tower by the start of the second Moto. And lastly, PLEASE take a few minutes to read and understand the rules/classes. Go to https://www.canaanlionsmx.com/documents If you have questions now is the time to straighten it out, not on race day. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or post a question to the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CanaanLionsMotorcross and we’ll be happy to help.
Now, back to oil changes and tire swaps.
See everyone soon!
Next Month it is race time!!! If you have not dropped off your Suspension to Factory Connection you still have time. Certificates expire April 30, 2022 for a great discount. Call 1-800-221-7560 ask for Tim Street. See you Soon!!!!
Wanted to give everyone a heads up about changes for the 2022 MX season. First I’d like to welcome Matt Tucker as co-chair. Matt and his family are long-time Canaan racers and even longer Lions club members. As most of you already know we’ve been busy with screening all the dirt at the track and redoing a few sections/jumps. We’ve also installed security cameras. These cameras are used only for security and will not be used during racing to determine results. As soon as snow melts and the ground thaws out we will be redoing our watering system with the intention of installing sprinklers in the next few years. We now have a credit/debit card machine and will be taking credit/debit for practice, transponder rental, membership/day passes, and race fees. The gate fee will still be cash/check only and, as always we also welcome cash/check for all the above items. Because we are spending quite a bit on track improvements and our costs continue to rise we will be increasing prices on the following:
Day pass $15
Year Membership $60
Gate fee, transponder rental, and race fees will remain the same as last year.
Please remember folks that the track is run totally by unpaid volunteers so these increases are to make the track better for all and allow the Lions Club to continue its charitable work in the community.
Thank you for continuing to support Canaan Lions MX and I look forward to seeing and riding with everyone soon!
In trying to get things moving in the morning and keep them moving during the day we need everyone’s help. The first thing is to please put your transponder number on your registration form. Also, you will need to show your transponder to the person registering you. Registration is from 7-9 am only, no late registration will be done at the tower anymore. During the day please do not enter/ question the time-keeping area at the bottom of the tower, instead find me or come to the top of the tower. If you are sharing a transponder and are racing back to back please let the person at the starting gate know and make sure you have the right transponder on the correct bike, we do not score by hand. We do seem to be having a few glitches with the system lately and have contacted trackside/ my laps. We need to be absolutely certain that we’re doing everything right on our end so they can diagnose/ fix the problem.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next race.
Thanks, Mike Krar
We need your help
Canaan Lions MX is in need of track help. As many of you know, the track is run by the Canaan Lions Club. The Lions, is the largest service organization, in the world. This is an all-volunteer group, and all proceeds raised, go toward causes such as eyesight and hearing testing, diabetes research, eliminating hunger, and helping with medical needs in our community and around the world.
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, Canaan Lions MX will be following all Federal, State, and Local Laws and Regulations. Please check the Website, Facebook, and Instagram for updates.
Some of our members, are now considered High Risk and will not be able to return to the track. In order for this to be a successful race season, we need flaggers, gate attendants, and help with registration. We are not looking for a season commitment (that would be great), but we are trying to get a list of people to fill in, as needed. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated and together we can keep Canaan Lions MX a fun, family-friendly place to ride and race. If you would like to help, please scroll to the bottom of the page, and fill out the form and press submit.
